About Jim Scott

Jim was a fixture at Major League Baseball Productions for 21 years as a producer, writer, editor, interviewer and location director. He eventually branched out as an ad sales executive, selling commercials in such MLB programs as This Week in Baseball, Pennant Chase and Baseball MAX

During his time at MLB, Jim played a critical role in the launching of Sports NewSatellite, a three-times-a-day sports feed distributing news and highlights of all major sports leagues to almost 200 broadcast stations throughout the U.S., including all NBC Owned & Operated stations. Jim ran Sports NewSatellite for three years, streamlining operational procedures and expanding the list of sports highlights to include NCAA basketball and football.

After leaving MLB in 2001, Jim changed careers entirely, joining global satellite provider PanAmSat as sales director.  In that role, he worked with clients such as the NFL, ABC News, CBS News, MTV and ESPN to deliver their live events and breaking news around the world. In each of his five years at PanAmSat, Jim successfully increased revenue from the company’s client list.

After PanAmSat’s merger with Intelsat in 2006, Jim left to join Kangaroo Media, a company headquartered in Montreal, Canada. Kangaroo developed a wireless hand-held device called FanView®, which gave fans at live sporting events access to eight channels of video with real-time event information and statistics. Jim managed Kangaroo’s relationship with Sprint, the title sponsor of the FanView device at NASCAR races, and later worked on expanding FanView use to include PGA TOUR and NFL events.

In 2009, Jim was approached by Eurovision, a global fiber and satellite provider based in Geneva, Switzerland, to help grow its business in North America. Establishing Pantheon Communications with Eurovision as its first client,  Jim worked with his contacts from Major League Baseball, PanAmSat and Kangaroo Media to more than double Eurovision’s business in the U.S. and Canada. This expansion in business has included winning new contracts with the NBA and the PGA TOUR to secure the global distribution of their live events and programming to clients around the world.

Jim credits his accomplishments to building strong, lasting relationships within client companies, from daily contacts to CEOs. His goal each day is simple: Never give a client a reason to call a competitor. While at PanAmSat, a Paris-based client once cited his “shuttle diplomacy” as the factor that renewed a damaged relationship and increased their level of business by 400% within two years.

No matter your business or industry, Jim's expertise in building strong, lasting customer relationships can help you build business with new customers or turn around troubled relationships with existing customers. Jim’s reputation is his most important asset.
